The power of coaching

In 2019, we introduced the CWB Coaching program to support our team members in the development of long-term career plans and address challenges faced in navigating career progression in the organization. Since its inception, we have certified over 70 of our CWB leaders as coaches and over 650 of our team members have received coaching through the program, with a focus to ensure diverse participation. The primary objective of the program is to engage our team members in a process of self-discovery through open- ended discussion, not direction. Certified CWB coaches are intentionally matched with team members outside of their functional areas to bring a broader perspective.

As the program has evolved, the coaching sessions now extend past career coaching and cover a wide range of topics, including personal and professional development, workplace transitions and challenges, problem solving and decision making. We continue to build a coaching culture by certifying new coaches each year. The program has proven to be a very successful tool to grow and retain our talent, with a

retention rate for program participants.

My coach has helped me gain confidence in myself and my role, and skills for communication, time management and ways to come up with solutions for challenges. I am focused on my personal growth within my current role and future growth within CWB.” - CWB coachee
