Health and wellness We have a comprehensive health benefits program, available for full-time and eligible part-time team members, which is fully paid for by CWB. We also recognize the importance of providing our teams with paid time-off to support their overall wellness. Our vacation entitlement begins at three weeks and progresses with years of service and level, to a maximum of 30 days. We also provide our team members with a CWBalance Day, an additional paid day off each year to support work- life balance. Our workplace safety protocol outlines how we maintain a healthy and safe workplace and our leave of absence policies ensure that team members are supported through injury or illness recovery times and other significant personal events. In 2022, we continued to offer an additional 12 days of paid time-off for child and elder care to assist with school and childcare facility closures and increased family caregiving needs. A focus on mental health We support our team members’ mental well-being through a variety of resources, including: • Our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), offered in partnership with LifeWorks. Our EAP is available 24/7 and provides short-term counselling and resources to support the well-being of our team members; • Not Myself Today, an online portal with educational resources from the Canadian Mental Health Association that focuses on building awareness and understanding of mental health and fostering safe and supportive work cultures; • The Working Mind, a training program developed by the Mental Health Commission to promote mental health and reduce the stigma around mental illness in the workplace; • Expanded psychological coverage as part of our health insurance package, which was introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic; and, • Teal Care Day, an extra paid day off in 2022 for our team members to prioritize their overall health.
Our approach to flexible work We are proud to be recognized as a Best Workplace™ for Hybrid Work in Canada by Great Place to Work ® . We support flexible work options to meet the diverse needs of our team members and their families, while also recognizing the importance of human connection to provide an unrivaled client experience. Our approach to flexibility provides options based on what is best for the client, team, and individual, with the overarching goal to build strong relationships and sustain our culture. Our options include everyday flexibility, where a team member can flex their work schedule to manage the shifting demands of work and life, hybrid work arrangements, and temporary work from anywhere options.
ERGs contributing to mental wellness We have 11 employee- represented groups (ERGs) working to strengthen
community, social connection and culture within CWB. In 2022, our Health 360 ERG hosted numerous events and activities, including: • Sessions dedicated to combat stigmas and stereotypes related to men’s mental health, how to use time off to rest and recharge effectively, parenting during the pandemic and a variety of other topics; • Events in support of Mental Health week, including webinars, activities and podcasts; and, • Collaborations with other ERGs to discuss topics such as mental health in the Black community and the challenges neurodiverse individuals face in the workplace.
Refer to the Diversity and inclusion section for further information on our ERGs.
