PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
SUCCESSION PLANNING
Our annual performance management cycle assesses team member contributions with a focus to advance a strong culture of accountability. All our team members set personal objectives, review their performance over the previous year, and identify opportunities for personal and career development. Throughout the year, leaders regularly engage with team members through performance conversations and regular check-ins to assess progress and provide feedback.
Succession planning is supported by a robust and collaborative process at the senior leadership level to identify team members for possible progression towards more senior roles. Once identified, development plans are put in place to challenge, connect, and support individuals as they advance in their career. Developing underrepresented talent is a focus during the succession planning process. This year, we seamlessly executed our planned succession at the executive leadership level. In 2022, we welcomed four outstanding leaders to our Executive team – Carolina Parra, Jeff Wright, John Steeves and Azfar Karimuddin – and Carolyn Graham, Glen Eastwood, and Darrell Jones retired after many years of exceptional service.
Refer to page 22 of our 2022 Management Proxy Circular to learn more about our approach to leadership development and succession planning, and the oversight responsibilities of our Board of Directors.
