Partnering with DIVERSEcity

DIVERSEcity is a Surrey-based registered charity that provides support to newcomers so they can build a successful life in Canada. The people DIVERSEcity supports through their various programs and services maintain their independence within a collaborative and supportive structure while gaining a sense of contribution and belonging in Canada. We proudly partnered with DIVERSEcity to present the CWB Business Incubator for Women Entrepreneurs program. In 2022, the program focused on providing three cohorts of immigrant women entrepreneurs with the skills required to plan, launch and grow their businesses. Following the completion of the program, a group of the participants

launched Infinity Womenpreneurs, which operates as an online marketplace to showcase and sell their work. The CWB Business Incubator for Women Entrepreneurs program is an example of the success that talented and diverse Canadian entrepreneurs can have when provided with the opportunity to fully leverage their strengths to build a future. In 2023, we continued to partner with DIVERSEcity with the launch of the Diverse Entrepreneurs Business Incubator program, aimed to support Black, Indigenous and racialized persons and immigrant entrepreneurs. Presented by CWB, this 18-week training program will help entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses and provide one-on-one self- employment support.

At the beginning, many of [the women entrepreneur participants] don’t know just how good they are and what they’re capable of. But they see their progress through the program and continually build up their entrepreneurship skills and knowledge. And through this process they gain more confidence.” - Florence Kao, CWB Business Incubator for Women Entrepreneurs Program Coordinator
