Setting new hires up for success In 2023 we enhanced our onboarding experience with a focus to set new hires up for success and decrease the time it takes for them to become confident in their new roles. We assessed our existing onboarding activities against industry best practices and identified areas of inconsistency to guide our areas of focus. Our key enhancements include: • A new onboarding view in our learning platform Teal Academy that gives new hires access to essential learning and resources in one place; • Staggered regulatory training over the first 90 days of employment;
• An enhanced learning curriculum for the Commercial Banking Relationship Manager role, tailored to key information and skills including access to virtual classes, self-study courses, and leader visibility for the progress of their new hire’s learning; • Proficiency tests at 30, 60 and 90 days for certain commercial roles; and • A leader information hub to provide leaders with a central location to access a new hire onboarding guide as well as other key resources required in their role. As we roll out the teal carpet to our new hires, we aim to foster a sense of belonging and inclusion and increase their speed to proficiency in their new roles.
