Creates community connections and supports Black team members and allies to learn and grow, both personally and professionally. Supports 2SLGBTQIA+ team members, their families and communities, and advocates for equal rights and opportunities for all.
• Represented CWB in the Africa Centre scholarship award ceremony. • Hosted two events for Black History Month including Stronger Together: A Coffee Circle Event where Black employees discussed career development with Khwezi Mbolekwa, a leader in Anti- Racism Organization Development and Culture Change. • Hosted a session on 2SLGBTQIA+ Inclusion in Healthcare, a meetup, and a panel for Pride month. • Hosted a Chosen Family Meetup, a drop-in session for Transgender Day of Visibility and Pride open houses in our Edmonton Corporate, Winnipeg and Calgary offices. • Published blogs on topics like Pride history, inclusive language, coming out stories, and allies’ stories of support. • Hosted a drop-in session to express solidarity following the Canada-wide protests against 2SLGBTQIA+ education in schools. • Hosted events for National Indigenous History Month in June and National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. • Published internal blogs on personal experiences as a participant in the ERG and exploring Indigenous heritage. • Hosted a session on Embracing Indigenous Heritage with external guest speaker Chana Martineau, CEO of Alberta Indigenous Opportunities Corporation. • Launched an Indigenous Book Club. • Created an Indigenous Music, Movies and Art Listing.
